From the illustrated feature in the British Sunday newspaper to the highly anticipated Limited Edition of Margaret Atwood’s masterpieces.

We are thrilled and proud to share our recent feature in the pages of The Observer. The prestigious British Sunday newspaper hosted an important illustrated editorial contribution of ours, bearing a provocative and highly urgent title: "Gilead is not fiction. It is coming for all women again today".
The article, written by author Naomi Alderman, lucidly analyzes how global political and religious fundamentalisms are sliding toward real extremist dynamics, closely mirroring the dystopian Republic of Gilead described in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. The author warns that the conception of the female body as patriarchal property keeps resurfacing in contemporary society, demanding a constant and active resistance from all of us.
For us, seeing our artwork published alongside this text is a preview of an even greater milestone. The images featured in the newspaper are taken from the upcoming, monumental Limited Edition box set of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments, published by The Folio Society and officially launching on November 3rd.
This marks a full circle moment. Ever since 2012, when we illustrated the first historic edition of the novel, we take great pride in having invented and defined the original visual iconography of Gilead. Five years before the famous TV series brought these atmospheres to the screen, our plates had already given a powerful visual and political identity to that dystopian world. From the very beginning, our goal has been for art to serve as a powerful tool for denunciation—using an uncompromising expressive force to strike, question, and even disturb the viewer.
This new collector’s box set, limited to just 750 hand-signed copies, stands as a museum-quality work of art. The large format finally does justice to the actual dimensions of our original paintings, and to celebrate this milestone, we have enriched the edition with a vital, brand-new plate that has never been published before.
Gilead is by no means fiction: it is an ongoing battle for women's rights and bodily autonomy, and we will continue to tell this story through our art, line after line.
